About Jamie Halford
Jamie graduated in 1997 from Buckinghamshire University with a BA (Hons) in Furniture Restoration and Craftsmanship. His formal training covered cabinet making, French polishing, traditional upholstery, and a wide range of restoration and conservation techniques.
He went on to work closely with established professionals, gaining practical experience often found through traditional apprenticeships. Since then, Jamie has restored everything from modest family pieces to exceptional antiques by celebrated makers.
Over time, he expanded his skills to include the restoration of clocks and other mechanical items—adding to an already broad portfolio of work. This versatility allows him to approach each project with a deep understanding of materials, function, and historical context.
Clients have included dealers, collectors, institutions, and, most often, members of the public—who frequently bring items with rich personal histories. Jamie is known for his high standards, trusted judgment, and careful balance between conservation and restoration.
Alongside his professional work, he also completed a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science with distinction—a brief academic diversion that reflects a broader interest in materials and sustainability.
