An impressive brass dial longcase clock

8 Day duration five pillar movement striking the hours.

12" brass dial with matted centre with 'birds and basket' engraving,  ringed seconds hole, silvered chapter ring with fleur-de-lis half hour markers. Mask spandrels to the corners,  arch containing dolphin spandrels and a sunburst engraved roundel. Seconds indicator with silvered dial.  No makers name present, dial features indicate likely more provincial form c. 1750 or earlier. Brass faced ring engraved pendulum bob & nice lead weights with ring turned/cast  tops.

Impressively tall but well proportioned mahogany case standing 90".  Case of the typical form of London design used from c. 1750  onwards. Long trunk door and panelled base with double plinth. Having some quantity of Cuban mahogany parts. Break-arch topped hood with brass inlaid reeded pillars and arch topped side windows.

The movement, dial and case professionally and sympathetically restored.  Condition excellent, case restoration details on request,  movement overhauled to a guaranteed standard.

A highly desirable clock despite uncertain association.
